Preventing Drop-Outs
Performance and
Retention (PAR) assessment is designed to identify students who have a greater probability of staying in school or job training programs for a longer period of time & will perform better in school or job training programs. Conversely, it will also identify those who are likely to not perform well and are strong candidates to become part of the dropout population. Assessment is available in English, Spanish, French and German. There is also and audio component for non or limited ability readers. The program is available on PCs or in a network environment. Assessment time is approximately 20-25 minutes.
Recent studies involving thousands of youth has led to the development of PAR. This new version is designed to predict the performance and retention of youth involved in education, training and work experience. A sample summary of results indicates that students with high performance and retention ratings/scores have:

- 24% Fewer problem terminations
- 18% Fewer absences
- 24% More program completers
- 22% More favorable reviews
- 21% More excellent social skills
- 13% Fewer truancies
