The First Stage of the Transition Process includes a battery of computer-based assessments and exploration tools that are designed to help an individual identify potential career and training options. This stage addresses the following Career Planning activities:
  1. Identifies how the individual learns and studies best
  2. Determines the likelihood that an individual will perform well and stay with the selected education or training program
  3. Identifies the individuals attitudes towards job readiness, job retention, and service qualities and instructs individuals on how to improve in these areas
  4. Determines whether the individual has the basic academic skills required to perform successfully on many jobs
