The First Stage of the Transition Process includes a battery of computer-based assessments and exploration tools that are designed to help an individual identify potential career and training options. This stage addresses the following Career Planning activities:
- Identifies how the individual learns and studies best
- Determines the likelihood that an individual will perform well and stay with the selected education or training program
- Identifies the individuals attitudes towards job readiness, job retention, and service qualities and instructs individuals on how to improve in these areas
- Determines whether the individual has the basic academic skills required to perform successfully on many jobs
